I have been a Registered Clinical Psychologist since 2006, completing my Master of Arts (endorsed in Clinical Psychology, with first class honours) and Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Massey University, Auckland. I am registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board in the Clinical scope of practice. I am also a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP) and served on their Ethics Committee between 2009-2015.
I have worked in private practice since 2009 with experience in many issues, including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, trauma, grief, anger, deliberate self harm, stress management & work burnout. I have previously worked at District Health Boards (ADHB and CMDHB), providing assessment and treatment of mental health issues with adolescents and their families'. During that time I had been a Practice Supervisor, provided clinical supervision for other mental health staff, and had provided a training role in supervising clinical psychology students and interns.
I am committed to continual education, training and supervision to ensure my clients receive the highest standard of service. I have expertise in several therapeutic approaches, including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
