Registered Clinical Psychologist
I believe the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to a good outcome. I strive to provide a professional service that is warm and friendly where you feel heard, understood and accepted; a place where you feel safe to explore sensitive and sometimes painful issues.
I offer psychological therapy tailored to your individual situation and needs, based on a comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatments that work. I am committed to continual education, training and supervision to ensure you receive the highest standard of service.
My main therapeutic model is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is an acceptance-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model . The aim of my approach is to enable you to take committed action towards living a rich and meaningful life, while simultaneously acquiring skills to handle any painful feelings and associated thoughts that inevitably turn up in life (e.g., sadness, fear, rejection, worry, loss, anger, disappointment and failure). Depending on our joint understanding of the issues, together with your own preferences and goals, this can be either a brief or longer term approach.
